Why on Earth would I want to live and work in Japan?

I'm going to be honest. Many of the reasons I want to go to Japan are superficial. However, I also have an extensive list of perfectly legitimate reasons to JET (heh) off to Japan. Here is a list of legit versus not so legit reasons why I want to go.

Legit

- I want to learn a new language.
- I want to have more experience living abroad.
- I love teaching.
- Japan has such a rich history that I would like to know more about.
- I am fascinated by Asian art.
- I have heard amazing things about the JET program.
- Japan's countryside is absolutely  beautiful.

Not-so-legit

- I love sushi!
- Styx's "Mr. Roboto"
- I read and loved Memoirs of a Geisha
- JET is an actual paying job, as opposed to "volunteer" teaching programs where you end up paying thousands to participate.
- The way Right Said Fred says "ha-pon"
