I Think I'm Turning Japanese

At least... I hope I rocked it! I spent all night worrying about all the possible questions they'd ask that I wouldn't know the answers to. I mostly freaked out because I don't own a suit, and everyone I'd spoken to and all the sites I checked said that appearance is key, and the Japanese prefer suits.

Imagine my surprise when I arrive and half the people waiting to be interviewed are way more casually dressed than I. I watched the intro video and got even more excited about my potential stay in Japan. But, I knew that I still had to muscle through this darn interview.

The interview was a piece of cake! The best question I was asked? "Do you enjoy karaoke?" I had to laugh because I LOVE karaoke. So I was asked what I would sing, and I blurted the first thing to pop into mind: "Anything by Frank Sinatra." One of the interviewer's face lit up and he said, "He's my favorite!"

Send me good vibes and well wishes on February 18!

This has been quite a long waiting process. In early January, I got a confirmation letter just saying "Yo, we got your application." Or something like that. Then I had to wait nearly another month to get an email with my interview date options. So I'm one step closer to moving to Japan!

I'm also brushing up on my "Dirty Japanese Slang," thanks to my early birthday present from my friend Gina. I'll post more about that later!

Auf Widersehen!
